Pacific Poker Overview (7.94/10.0):
Pacific Poker (www.PacificPoker.com) is part of the world’s largest online casino group, 888 Holdings. Lots of casino players migrate over to the poker tables which make for some wild, loose play. In the last few years Pacific Poker has gone from an online poker room with some of the worst software to a decent place to play. The rake structure here still could be improved. The bonuses and promotions are very good and the loyalty program is top notch.
Pacific Poker does not accept real money players from the USA, so if you are from America make sure to check out this list of USA poker sites. If you are from outside of the USA, read on to learn about Pacific Poker.
PacificPoker.com Software (7.0/10.0):
Pacific Poker used to be widely known as having the worst poker software online. As you can imagine, the executives at Pacific Poker didn't like hearing those sorts of comments, so they completely rehauled the poker lobby and table in an attempt to improve user friendliness. Although the new software is much, much improved from the last disaster, we still don't think the Pacific Poker software is as good as it could be.
Getting started at Pacific Poker is easy - you can either choose to download Pacific Poker or play on the flash, no-download version. Mac users sure have been happy about that! Once you get the poker room installed you can create a new account. You will then see that the Pacific Poker software has been updated and is more functional and user friendly. And let’s hope you like green, because that is the dominant color of the lobby:
The lobby is divided into tabs for each game variety (Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, Seven Stud, Seven Stud Hi/Lo). Under each of the five game varieties you will find ring games, sit & go games, multi-table tournaments, and jackpot games. You can also use a further filter to narrow the table selection even more. After you use those three filters, you should be down to a manageable number of tables.
The newest update from Pacific Poker allows players to play at 16 tables simultaneously - 8 cash tables and 8 tournaments. Another part of that last update includes some 3D graphics and a few cosmetic details that had been previously left out. Other added features are the hand histories and the always visible cashier.
Pacific Poker Promotions (8.8/10.0):
Pacific Poker offers several promotions including their $400 sign up bonus and new depositor freerolls.

We love Pacific Poker's bonus because players get 25% of the bonus up front, instantly. They can then wager their deposit plus the 25% bonus to clear the remaining 75% of the bonus. To clear the bonus, players simply have to play for real money at Pacific Poker and earn Bonus Points. Every ten bonus points you earn is worth $1 of your bonus, and the bonus is always released as a lump sum (once you accumulate enough bonus points).
Another nice feature at Pacific Poker is the Bonus Progress bar at the top left of your poker table. As you play you can see the Bonus Points rack up, and see how close you are to receiving your next $20 increment. To learn more about the Pacific Poker bonus and earning Bonus Points, read our Pacific Poker bonus guide.
New Depositor Freerolls

Pacific Poker Games (8.4/10.0):
Pacific Poker did pretty well in this category too, mainly because the competition at the Pacific tables is very easy to beat. Pacific offers five poker games, most of which are offered in No Limit, Fixed Limit, and Pot Limit form:
- Texas Hold'em
- Omaha
- Omaha Hi/Lo
- Seven Card Stud
- Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo
The majority of player traffic is at the low-mid stake No Limit Hold'em tables. These games are extremely juicy, as viewed flop percentages are often around 70%, and even get as high as 85%. If you have solid poker strategy you will easy be able to beat the NL Hold'em tables at Pacific Poker.
Pacific Poker Tournaments (7.5/10.0):
Pacific Poker runs hundreds of tournaments each day, including Sit and Gos, Multi Table tournaments, and Guaranteed Prize Pool tournaments. Every tournament at Pacific Poker uses the same tournament structure, which is decent - the structure isn't fast, but it could be improved if they slowed the progression down a little bit.
Tournament buy-ins start as low as $1, but if you are looking for high stakes action you can play tournaments with buy-ins in the hundreds of dollars. Variations of poker tournaments include:
- Normal 10-handed tournaments.
- Shorthanded (6-handed) tournaments.
- Heads up (1 on 1) sit and gos, with a rematch feature if both players want to play again.
Another big deal at Pacific Poker are their Daily Challenge series with buy-ins ranging from $12 to $100 with guaranteed prize pools of up to $50,000. Head over to Pacific Poker to get in on the tournament action!
Pacific Poker Rewards (8.0/10.0):
Pacific Poker offers a very good rewards program, minus the fact that the numbers gets quite complicated. There are six tiers in the Pacific Poker VIP program, all of which have varying rewards and prizes. To climb the ladder, players have to earn a certain number of Status Points per month or per year, for the top two tiers. Here is a chart showing the monthly/yearly point requirements for the six tiers:
If you are able to attain one of the yearly statuses, you will keep that status for twelve months. The monthly statuses (Silver, Gold, and Platinum) have to be re-achieved every month.
How to Earn Status Points
As soon as you sign up at Pacific Poker, you are automatically enrolled in the rewards program and will start earning points as soon as you start playing real money poker. Players earn points by playing real money cash games, sit and gos, and multi table tournaments. The higher stakes you play, the faster you earn points.
Rewards
At the moment, players only have the option of converting their points to cash (which is usually the best reward a poker VIP program can offer). Pacific Poker plans to add an online store in the future, but keep in mind that taking straight cash is almost always the best option. The higher you are on the VIP ladder, the more money you will get per point. VIP and VIP Diamond members also receive personal support representatives. Head over to PacificPoker.com to join the VIP program and start earning cash back!
Pacific Poker Support Team
The customer support team at Pacific Poker is friendly and knowledgeable. Support is provided by telephone, email, or live chat. Visit PacificPoker.com and click on the help button to get many of your questions answered. Telephone support is not toll free at this time.
