Biggest Sunday Poker Tournaments Online

If you want to play in the biggest online poker tournaments, we recommend that you log on every Sunday. Poker sites such as PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, Bodog, and Titan Poker all hold their largest tournaments on Sundays. Each of these tournaments bring out the top players on each site, and offer the largest prize pools of the week.

Each Sunday poker tournament listed on this page registers hundreds, if not thousands of players, and boasts a prize pool in the six, if not seven, figures. Sunday MTTs are the ultimate test of a player's skill, because you not only have to sit with some of the best online poker players in the world, but you also have to outlast an immense field just to make the money. Fortunately, players who go deep in a Sunday tournament are handsomely rewarded.

We have listed each major Sunday poker tournament on this page, so read on for more info:

The PokerStars.com Sunday Million

The biggest weekly poker tournament online is the PokerStars Sunday Million. The name is a little misleading, because the tournament actually carries a $1.5 million guarantee. The Sunday Million used to have a $1 million guarantee, but when PokerStars upped the guaranteed money, they decided to stick with the same name out of tradition.

The Sunday Million is a $215 buy-in, No Limit Hold'em tournament. There are no rebuys or add-ons, and the tournament usually runs for about eleven hours. First place in the Sunday Million normally pays over $200,000, with the final table all taking home a five figure pay day. Also, the majority of Sunday Million tournaments end with a "chop". There is so much money involved that most players would prefer to cut a deal and receive a guaranteed prize, instead of testing their luck in a potential six figure swing situation.

Another great part of the Sunday Million is the satellite qualifiers. Every week PokerStars runs hundreds of satellites to the tournament, including Frequent Player Point freerolls, cash sit and go's, and cash multi table super satellites. Players can qualify for the Sunday Million with as little as a $1 investment, which allows everyone access to a potential six figure pay day.

If you decide to sign up at PokerStars.com to play in the Sunday Million, feel free to use marketing code POKERSITE.ORG for a 100% up to $600 bonus on your first deposit.

The FullTiltPoker.com $750,000 Guaranteed and Sunday Brawl

Every Sunday at 6:00 PM EST, Full Tilt Poker runs a $216 buy-in tournament with a $750,000 guarantee. This tournament is the second largest weekly online poker tournament, right behind the PokerStars Sunday Million. Although the guarantee is $750,000, the prize pool usually eclipses $850,000, and occasionally reaches $1 million.

The $750,000 guarantee usually runs for about eleven hours, and registers about 4,500 entrants, with about 500 players making the money. Full Tilt Poker offers quite a few satellites throughout the week for the $750,000 guaranteed, and players can qualify for the tournament with as little as a $2.25 investment. The winner of this tournament often receives over $200,000, and the final tableists almost always receive a five figure pay day.

Full Tilt Poker also offers another major Sunday tournament, which is called the Sunday Brawl. The Sunday Brawl is a bounty tournament, meaning that players not only win money for going deep in the tournament, but also for knocking out other players. The tournament is a $256 buy-in, and $40 goes into a "bounty fund" that is placed on your head. Every player you knock out is worth $40 in cash, placed directly into your cashier.

The TitanPoker.com $250,000 Guaranteed and Monthly Million

Titan Poker doesn't accept USA players, so their tournament volume is slightly smaller than the volume at PokerStars or Full Tilt Poker. Every Sunday Titan Poker runs a $250,000 guaranteed No Limit Texas Hold'em tournament with a $320 buy-in, and the total prize pool usually eclipses the $250,000 guarantee. This tournament runs every Sunday at 7:00 PM EST.

Every week there are dozens of satellites to the $250,000 guaranteed tournament, and players can qualify for as little as as a few dollars. The tournament usually runs for about seven or eight hours, and there are usually around 800 total players, with about 100 making the money.

Titan Poker is also adding a new tournament, starting on January 10, 2010. This tournament is a No Limit Hold'em MTT, with a $535 buy-in and a $1 million guarantee. After January 10, 2010 the Monthly Million will run on the second Sunday of every month. Satellites for the first tournament start on December 7, 2009, so sign up at TitanPoker.com and hit the qualifiers!

The AbsolutePoker.com $200,000 Guaranteed and $100,000 Guaranteed

Absolute Poker is another poker room that has a nice lineup of Sunday tournaments. The first tournament we will discuss is their $200,000 Guaranteed, which is a $215 buy-in No Limit Hold'em tournament that runs every Sunday at 4:00 PM EST. This tournament almost always exceeds the guaranteed prize pool, largely because Absolute Poker runs a slew of satellite tournaments throughout the week that inject hundreds of extra players into the field.

The other major Sunday tournament at Absolute Poker is their $100,000 Guaranteed. This tournament runs every Sunday at 2:00 PM EST, and has a $530 buy-in. Players start with 3,000 tournament chips, and the tournament features a slowly-progressing blind structure that allows players plenty of time to make moves before the blinds place too much pressure.

The Bodog.com $100,000 Guaranteed

The Bodog Poker $100,000 Guaranteed is easily the best value in online tournament poker. Since Bodog is a smaller online poker room, there is an overlay in this tournament every single week. This means that not enough players pay the $162 buy-in to cover the $100,000 guarantee, so Bodog has to kick in the extra money. Last week, only 461 players entered, so Bodog had to contribute an extra $30,850 to the prize pool.

Each week the first place finisher receives $25,000, second place receives $15,000, and third place receives $9,500. The payouts don't quite compare to what you would get for winning the PokerStars Sunday Million, but the weekly overlay makes this tournament a "can't miss".
